New Projects

 F-106
I've started a couple of new projects.  One is a Club Build.  All members will choose an old Revell/Monogram model and build it to suit themselves.  Some of us will build straight out of the box with no improvements or aftermarket accessories.  Others will customize their build, i.e. re-scribing panel lines, new decals, aftermarket cockpits, etc.

I've chosen to do the latter.  My project is a Revell F-106 Delta Dart in 1/48th scale.  I've re-scribed the panel lines.  That means I've sanded down the existing raised panel lines and cut new ones into the fuselage and other parts where needed.  This is to accomplish a weathered look and to perform panel line washes with thinned artist oil paints that will help define the separate fuselage panels.  I'm going to use the existing cockpit, but detail and shade the instrument panels with oils and dry-brushing techniques.  I'll use an aftermarket ejection seat made of resin.

Here are some pictures after a few hours spent re-scribing and painting.

LUCKY JACK

The next project if a 1/10th scale Figure.  It's a bust of Russell Crowe as Jack Aubrey of the Patrick O'brian novels like "Master & Commander"  I went to a figure painting seminar the the Atlanta Military Figure Society show on February 20th.  Lucky for me the seminar used this exact figure, which I've owned for almost a year now with no progress.  Below is the Box art and the figure with the primer coat of paint applied.
