Starting Over

After receiving invaluable assistance yesterday at the Atlanta Military Figure Society meeting, I've stripped all the paint and have re-primed lucky Jack.  Starting off with the eyes, I'll attempt to get them the correct size and alignment.

Here I go again.

This is starting to look better

I tried using just basic skin tone and dark red to come up with highlight colors I liked.  I'm taking it this weekend to the AMFS meeting to get some pointers and criticism.

Highlights to the Face

I've been adding thinned layers of the base paint with basic fleshtone added incrementally in subsequent painting sessions.  The result is this,

I don't know if this is looking correct or not since I haven't added any shadows yet.  Time will tell.

On to the Face

Although I'm still pondering on how to proceed with the eyes (I'll probably start over), I did get the base coat painted on the face.  I'm making better progress with this figure than I have on any other.

Started over with the eyes on Lucky Jack

I started over with the eyes on Lucky Jack here and think I might have the pupil size right but I'm not sure of the alignment.

More work on the eyes

After my eye painting session last night, poor Jack looked like he was in the end stages of Ebola.  I've taken another whack at him and although he might look a little better, I've still got a ways to go.

I'll keep on plugging away until I'm satisfied.
