Over reaction

I took a breath, got some advice from my friends in the IPMS Northmen and moved forward. Now this King Tiger looks a lot better. It might not be a contest winner, but it's provided me with new insights on both my skills as a modeler and my overly self critical tendencies. On I go.

Working too fast

I learned a hard lesson in the last two days. I was going along o.k. on the King Tiger. I was reaaly focused on the tracks. Then it came time to attach the hull. I didn't pay enough attention and ended up with a mis-aligned fit with a gap that's going to take some thinking to see how to proceed. I'll see how it goes.

King Tiger Project

I'm working on a armor project that hopefully I'll complete before the Gastonia, N.C. and Anniston Alabama shows on Apr 28th and May 5th respectively. This is the 1/35 DML6232 King Tiger Late Production Ardennes 1944. This was the first time I’ve ever put link-to-link tracks together. They are the kit styrene tracks and I’ve learned a few lessons putting them together. I can see now how alignment can be an issue with these type tracks. The next one I work on I’ll use a section of track to align the road wheels before final gluing. Here's the track and lower hull so far.
